FrontPage Introduction

A One Day Course

Who Should Attend?
This course is designed for users who need to create and maintain professional web pages as efficiently and quickly as possible. Users will achieve the following skills in FrontPage:
Maintain an existing website
Create new web pages
Import data from other applications
Manage internal and external hyperlinks
Add images to a page
Create frame pages

Course Outline

Introduction to HTML
A quick look at raw HTML; Web site design and planning; Understanding basic tags and attributes; Recognising the HTML structure; Differences between browsers; Understanding the sections of a page

Introduction to FrontPage
Overview of FrontPage concepts; Creating blank web pages; Pages, links and images; Setting site navigation; Creating folders; Viewing HTML

Editing Web Pages
Setting page properties ; Setting the Background; Using rules and other layout techniques; Previewing in a Browser; Composing and editing text; Styles, horizontal lines and character formatting; Aligning and indenting text; Creating lists with bullets and numbers

Working with Tables
Importing tables from Word; Using tables to improve the page layout; Table and cell properties; Merging and splitting cells; Using tables to define page layout; Problems and solutions with tables

Hyperlinks
Specifying where a hyperlink will jump to; Mail hyperlinks; Using text, images and buttons as hyperlinks; Bookmarks for internal hyperlinks

Working with Images
Understanding how to use graphics; Image bullets and hyperlinks; Inserting graphics and ClipArt; Setting image attributes and position; Managing page download speed

Frames
Creating frame which work together to improve the usability of your web; Frame properties; Targeting frames; Creating new browser windows

Course Code FP02

A One Day Course

Who Should Attend?
This course is designed for existing FrontPage users who what to learn how to use the product to its full potential when creating dynamic web pages.
This course will be invaluable to users with the need to perform the following tasks:
Create and manipulate buttons and images
Create forms and collect form data
Create dynamic pages using DHTML or JavaScript
This course will be particularly beneficial to users that are have attended the FrontPage Introduction course and wish to build their knowledge to get the most from this application.

Forms
Inserting Form Fields; Validating Forms; Handling Form Data; Connecting to a Database using Active Server Pages

Cascading Style Sheets

Creating Dynamic Pages
Creating Hover Buttons; Animation Effects; Page Counters Search Forms; Working with Banners

Introduction to JavaScript
