Introductory Level - One Day Course Code:
PP01
Course Objectives:
This course will enable trainees to:
Create slides; presentation material and on-screen shows based on
templates; Customise presentations and utilise special effects;
Adopt good design principles for different types of presentation
media
Course Details
Start and exit the software; the environment; Creating slides from
templates, editing presentations
Arranging slides into order; delete slides; hide slides
Produce, edit and format bulleted slides; change font, font size,colour;
Use the Spell checker; Find and replace text
Add, edit and format WordArt and ClipArt; scanned images; sound
and movie clips
Use the AutoShape feature; changing AutoShapes re-shaping, using
the vortex point, text wrap, duplication, alignment, rotation; callouts,
freehand drawing, connectors
Create and edit bar graphs, line graphs and pie charts from entered
data
Create and edit tables; changing borders; coloumn widths
Create and edit Organisation Charts
Produce printed output: slides, notes, handouts
Creating a custom background; customise a colour scheme; changing
the title slide and slide masters; apply a template from another
presentation
Basic computer-based slide shows: running a manual show
Advanced Level/Existing Users - One Day
Course Code: PP02
Course Objectives
The course objectives can be tightened up once we have established
delegates' abilities but we would suggest the following:
Revising any topics from the Introductory level that delegates may
not know, use advanced features for text and graphic display; Utilise
special effects for on-screen shows; Import/Export between relevant
applications
Course Details
There will be an opportunity for anyone who is self-taught, to re-cap
on items from the previous level.
Headers, Footers; Page Numbers
Inserting slides from other presentations
Changing Masters: Slides; Title Masters; Speakers Notes and Handouts
Creating Design and Content Masters
Customising graphs - editing features e.g. scaling, number formats,
colour schemes, data labels, data tables, rotation, trouble shooting
imported data
Screen Show features: Meeting Minder, Recording Speaker Notes, Summary
Slide, End with a Black Slide option, Recording Narration
Adding action buttons, hyperlinks, video, media and sound clips,
adding a track from a CD
Working with other Applications - Paste and Paste Linking, Word
Outlines, sending a Presentation to Word, adding Comments, interfacing
with Outlook, sending to a Mail Recipient
Presentation Conferences (if the facility is available) - viewing
a slide show on more than one PC
Creating Custom Shows
